Because the physical design of the AutoChlorinator™ has many strict requirements, it’s become apparent that we need to turn them into “real life” objects for testing — and iterate upon them quickly. Just in the design stage, we’ve gone through countless prototypes, so using a third party for producing them is not a possibility:
We acquired a 3D printer so to have full flexibility over the product with really quick turnaround times. In hindsight, this was a game changer. We were able to prototype designs extremely quickly, iterating toward the final product.
As the enclosure will be quite large, we’ve started printing it in smaller parts for the quickest learnings and increase the speed of iteration. For example, getting a connector right on a 5cm x 5cm printed part (eg. 30m to print) vs. a 100cm x 100cm part (8hrs to print).
